Bringing a new puppy or dog home can feel overwhelming, and AYM is here to help make that transition smooth and stress-free. Our Pre-Puppy Consultation is a one-hour phone session designed to answer all your questions and prepare you for your new companion.

Lessons cover leash walking, recall, calm behaviour in stimulating settings, social interactions, and more, all while continuing to use positive reinforcement and clicker training.

This program ensures both you and your dog gain the confidence and control needed for success beyond the basics.

Our 8-Week Reactive Dog Program is designed for dogs who display reactivity toward other dogs, people, or environmental triggers — whether driven by excitement, fear, frustration, or aggression.

Through the use of clicker training and positive reinforcement, we focus on understanding your dog’s emotions and building their confidence, rather than suppressing behaviour through punishment.

Over the course of the program, you’ll learn practical strategies to help your dog navigate real-world situations calmly and successfully. Reactive dogs are not “bad” dogs — they’re simply struggling, and with the right support, they can learn to thrive.

Many dogs experience anxiety during nail trims, baths, or blow drying — but it doesn’t have to be that way. Since grooming is a regular part of care, especially for certain breeds, it’s important to create positive associations early on.

Our program focuses on reducing stress and building comfort through gradual desensitization and positive reinforcement. Step by step, we help your dog gain confidence with each aspect of grooming so these experiences become calm, safe, and even enjoyable.

Enjoying calm, connected walks with your dog is one of the greatest joys of dog ownership — yet many underestimate the importance of proper leash training. Dogs naturally want to explore and often pull with enthusiasm toward parks, people, or other dogs. Our  Loose Leash Walking Program uses positive reinforcement techniques, avoiding the use of prong collars, e-collars, haltis, or specialized harnesses. Through personalized one-on-one sessions, we focus on helping your dog learn to walk calmly and happily without leash tension.Owners receive structured homework assignments to reinforce progress between sessions, ensuring lasting results. This program is best suited for dogs who exhibit non-aggressive reactive behaviour during walks.

 It is a common misconception that it is normal for dogs to be fearful at the veterinarian. In reality, dogs should be able to enter and exit the veterinary office with a wagging tail, unless they are unwell. Fear and anxiety during vet visits are not typical and can be addressed with the right training and support. 

This program is designed to help dogs manage stress and anxiety during veterinary visits. It includes a combination of in-home training to develop essential skills and on-site lessons at your veterinary hospital. We will collaborate with your veterinarian to create a tailored plan to ensure success. Additionally, we will accompany you to the veterinary office for training sessions to reinforce positive behaviors in the real-world setting. 

 Our custom program is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of clients whose concerns may not be fully addressed within the framework of standard training programs. This program offers a flexible, tailored approach to address a wide range of behavioural issues that may require more individualized attention. It allows for multiple concerns to be addressed within the same program, making it an efficient and comprehensive solution for clients seeking broader support for their pets. At the start of the program, the client and trainer will engage in an in-depth conversation to discuss the dog's specific needs, goals, and priorities. Concerns addressed within this custom program can include, but are not limited to, issues such as separation anxiety, leash walking, socialization, recall, jumping, and excessive barking.
