Meet Your trainer

Hi! My name is Brittany, I am the owner of and trainer at AYM Dog Training. I am a Registered Veterinary Technician , a Fear Free Professional and I have completed the Karen Pryor Academy Puppy Start Right and Click To Calm courses. I love connecting veterinary medicine and behaviour! Ever since I was a child I knew I wanted to work with animals. During my post secondary Veterinary Technician education, my love for animal behaviour blossomed and it has been growing ever since. It has been a dream of mine since college to open a dog training business. I am so excited to help owners and their fur babies have  wonderful lives together!

Meet Mya! Mya is my childhood dog, she is a shih tzu/bichon frise mix. Mya has played a major role in my love for animals and behaviour and I wouldn't be where I am today without her. Mya has suffered from noise anxiety throughout her life which made me appreciate how important noise desensitization is (she is deaf now so goodbye noise anxiety!).  Since Mya has played such a crucial part in my career and life and I consider her my best-friend,  it only made sense to name this business after her! 

AYM is simply Mya backwards.

Mya passed away in June 2024 but the lessons she taught me and the inspiration she gave me will live on forever. I hope to continue to honour her through AYM. 

Meet Darla! Darla is a rescue so we're not quite sure what she is but we suspect a poodle mix. Adopting a puppy was such a thrill because not only was I gaining another best-friend, I got to be in complete control of her training! I truly believe a well behaved dog gets to live the best life and that is what I wanted to give Darla. We've learned so many lessons together and I am so proud of the happy, loving, social, and confident dog she has become. Darla often helps with client's lessons to provide a relaxed trigger or distraction for them. 

Meet Pot Roast AKA Potty! This little man came into a veterinary clinic I was working at through a rescue. Potty had been surrendered to the rescue after his parents got a divorce and neither of them wanted to keep him (heart breaking... I know). He was then bounced around from home to home, being returned to the rescue after each family stated he was aggressive. Being a sucker for grey kitties and behaviour cases, I agreed to foster him. After some patience and TLC, Potty joined my family forever and has proven to be the sweetest little guy.
